Attention, Transformers and G.I. JOE fans! Leading American toy manufacturer Hasbro has announced the release of a new collaborative product featuring its two major IPs, Transformers and G.I. JOE: the "Autobot Kup Triple T" action figure set. With a suggested retail price of US$89.99, it is slated for release in October 2024!
The "G.I. JOE" toy line originated in 1964 as a soldier doll toy released by American toy manufacturer Hasbro for boys. What many collectors are more familiar with is the G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero 3.75-inch action figure series, re-marketed by Hasbro in 1982, which reimagined G.I. JOE as a special forces unit battling the evil Cobra organization. The iconic white "Triple T" tank's original toy was released in 1986, serving as the exclusive vehicle for Sgt. Slaughter, a character based on American professional wrestler Sgt. Slaughter!
This "Autobot Kup Triple T" figure stands approximately 22.8 cm tall in robot mode. It combines the "Triple T" tank with the stubborn and elderly Autobot Kup, who first appeared in the 1984 Transformers G1 animation. Its physique has become more robust to match the tank's design, and the color scheme has shifted from the original light blue to a combination of white and military green. The "USA" emblem and American flag on its chest are major highlights! It can transform into the Triple T tank mode in 34 steps. The included two machine guns and missiles can also be attached to the main body in both modes, enhancing its firepower!
Furthermore, a collaboration with the classic G.I. JOE series wouldn't be complete without action figures! This product also includes two 3.75-inch action figures: Triple T's driver, Sgt. Slaughter, and Leatherneck. These figures are produced using the O-Ring construction method, widely utilized by Hasbro in the 1980s for the G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero 3.75-inch action figure line. They can be posed and played with alongside Kup, and with such a powerful team-up, they are sure to be unstoppable!
