SUPER7, an American toy brand dedicated to releasing various pop culture-themed toys, has announced a new product in its 3.75-inch articulated figure series "ReAction": the "Patrick Bateman" 3.75-inch articulated figure cardback, based on the classic black comedy thriller film American Psycho. The suggested retail price is US$20, and it is currently available for pre-order on the SUPER7 official website, with an estimated release date of September 2024!
Released in 2000, American Psycho was directed by Mary Harron. The story follows protagonist Patrick Bateman, portrayed by Christian Bale, a young and wealthy investment banker. However, behind his glamorous Wall Street yuppie facade lies a terrifying serial killer. Christian Bale's superb acting and the script's exploration of madness within the capitalist structure have made this film a cult classic. Christian Bale's peculiar, confident smile in the movie has also become the iconic expression for the Sigma meme!
This Patrick Bateman 3.75-inch articulated figure is sculpted in his raincoat attire from the scene where Patrick invites Paul Allen, played by Jared Leto, to his home, discussing music while preparing to commit murder. One can see his suit pants and leather shoes peeking out from beneath the raincoat. His unsettling, eerie smile is captured on his face, and the figure comes with the large axe he uses for his crimes. The cardback art is also quite striking, depicting Patrick preparing to strike, with a shining axe reflecting a skull symbolizing death, perfectly recreating the powerful sense of dread this yuppie killer brings to the audience!
