Aoshima Bunka Kyozai's assembly model brand ACKS, which produces the "Macross" mecha girl assembly model "V.F.G." series, recently announced the latest product from "Macross Delta", the "VF-31J Siegfried Kaname Buccaneer", scheduled for release in December 2024.
"Variable Fighter Girl" is an assembly model product that combines transformable fighters from the "Macross" series with articulated "VF Girl" bodies. The fighter itself can replicate the three transformation stages seen in the anime, while the "VF Girl" body features excellent articulation and can be posed in various ways with interchangeable expressions, hands, and accessories. Both can be enjoyed individually, and through an original transformation mechanism, they can combine into a cool and cute mecha girl form. This fourth installment from "Macross Delta" features Kaname Buccaneer, one of the members of the tactical music unit 'Walküre', and the mass-produced main aircraft of the Chaos Ragna Branch's α, β, and γ squadrons, the "VF-31 Siegfried".
In this product, Kaname's "VF Girl" articulated body features an original model design of a tight-fitting combat suit. Exclusive parts are used to recreate her setting as the tallest among the members and her representative color. Some color blocks and lines are pre-painted, and the interchangeable expression parts include two pre-printed faces and three faces that require water decals for self-assembly. Even a straight build can largely reproduce the colors from the original design. The body features flexible articulated joints.
Accessories include two handheld microphones, a microphone stand, a chibi Walküre, a drone-shaped display base, and Messer's relic bracelet, allowing for various scene recreations with the main body's flexible articulation.
Although the fighter included in the kit is unfortunately not Messer's "VF-31F" but rather a shared "VF-31J" mold, it has been recolored in an orange-yellow palette based on Kaname's original combat suit. It also includes original design aircraft markings, adding richer detail to the fuselage beyond just the armor lines. By swapping parts, it can reproduce the FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID forms, and combine with Kaname's body to create an original mecha girl form.
