To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Chogokin series, BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, recently announced the latest commemorative product from "Golden Warrior Gold Lightan," the "GX-32SP Golden Warrior Gold Lightan CHOGOKIN 50th Ver.," slated for release in December 2024.
The protagonist, Gold Lightan, is a lighter-shaped robot from the Machine Dimension. He leads the Lightan Corps against King Ibalda, pursuing him from the Machine Dimension to the human world. Normally, Gold Lightan is only the size of a human palm, but after entering the interdimensional passage "Seven-Colored Rainbow," he can transform into a giant robot standing 30 meters tall. Although he is not equipped with any weapons and relies solely on hand-to-hand combat to attack enemies, his special move, "GOLD CRUSH," is incredibly powerful, allowing him to transform his palm into an indestructible substance and pierce through enemies' bodies at near light speed.
The "GX-32SP Golden Warrior Gold Lightan CHOGOKIN 50th Ver." makes its reappearance, utilizing the design of the previous GX-32. Its main body, in the precisely textured rectangular "Lighter Form," is crafted with alloy materials for its exterior and features gold plating to achieve a brilliant golden luster across its entire surface. Through a complete transformation mechanism, it can recreate the robot form of "Gold Lightan," standing approximately 13 cm tall.
Its limbs feature flexible, articulated joints, allowing for dynamic combat poses from the series. It also includes a "Mechanical Heart" part, which can be held in its hand, representing the heart extracted from an enemy after being pierced by the "GOLD CRUSH" special move. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Chogokin series, this version specially includes a custom storage box that pays homage to the packaging of POPPY's original Chogokin release.
