Piece by piece, LEGO bricks offer infinite possibilities; as long as you have imagination, you can build anything! There are countless players worldwide who are madly in love with LEGO, meticulously crafting astonishing works with LEGO.
We at Toy People have introduced many impressive creators to date. Today's article is going to be intense! Not only will we introduce MOC masters, but we will also try, from the perspective of a LEGO brick observer, to carefully examine "Why Do His LEGO Builds Look More Fun?!".

Before we officially begin, let's talk about MOC. In the LEGO world, the common term MOC is an abbreviation for My Own Creation, meaning "my own creation." Whether it's sourcing all the necessary parts yourself or modifying parts from official sets, I personally consider it MOC. Among the vast LEGO fan base worldwide, everyone specializes in completely different types of MOCs, which is the value of this article, as we will bring you a wide variety of LEGO MOCs that fully demonstrate the possibilities of LEGO.
■ Jayfa: Constructing Captivating Fantasy Creatures with Orderly Stacking TechniquesFirst up is one of the champion partners from 'Lego Masters (Australian),' the already renowned monster master in the LEGO MOC community, Jayfa (Joss Ivanwood). If you don't recognize the name, that's okay; I'll give you a keyword, and you'll immediately have an "Oh, it's him!" reaction. Jayfa is the designer of the Demogorchid, who heavily modified the LEGO Botanical Collection set '10311 Orchid'!

There's also another astonishing work: the popular giant monster "Godzilla," built according to Legendary Pictures' design! The complex body structure, the richly layered surface despite being almost monochromatic, and the visually stunning effect created by neatly arranged and stacked parts at various angles are all quite remarkable.

Among Jayfa's many LEGO creations, the most iconic and unique must be Dagon, the Sea God. Jayfa first interpreted this concept in 2017 and subsequently revised several versions, refining the ideas in his mind to perfection, resulting in this creation which holds significant meaning for him. This piece incorporates one of Jayfa's most classic stacking techniques: using various Technic parts and curved bricks to outline natural curves. It's not merely about attaching curved parts to the surface; rather, the entire skeleton is sculpted into a highly organic curve, which is truly spectacular!

Through Dagon, one can strongly feel Jayfa's expertise in shaping mythical monster forms with precise part combinations. His color matching and part selection are absolutely top-notch, truly divine.

Beyond monsters rich in fantasy and highly futuristic machinery, he is also adept at crafting beautiful scenes! In this "Spirited Away" themed creation, in addition to the No-Face figure, which is arguably Jayfa's forte, the completeness of the background screen pattern and his skill in presenting 2D subjects are also exceptional.

■ Seirei, who builds LEGO Gundams as if using U.C.0079 high-tech construction methods
"This isn't Gunpla, it's Gundam."
This is perhaps the most classic phrase Japanese LEGO MOC master Seirei uses on X (Twitter) to describe his works. His LEGO Gundam models are super masterpieces, combining large scale with overwhelming mechanical detail. For example, as previously introduced by our editor, the Gundam Aerial (right) in the image below is 50 cm tall, and the Rising Freedom Gundam (center), including its base, stands at an astonishing 77 cm tall.

According to Seirei on X, this LEGO Rising Freedom Gundam, including its base, weighs a total of 3 kilograms. Our editor personally believes that just maintaining the central frame without collapse and building such a dynamic pose is already extremely difficult, let alone fully achieving the machine's outline and intricate detail stacking. It's truly admirable.

Take a closer look at these detailed close-ups of the Gundams – it's simply impossible to imagine how Seirei conceived these structures! And he must have spent an enormous amount of time finding the suitable LEGO parts.

The subsequent Sazabi differs in proportion and styling from Seirei's previous LEGO Gundams, presenting a new challenge for him. However, he also stated that upon completion, it further expanded his understanding of LEGO's possibilities. Is this... an iterative, incremental development concept straight from the Universal Century!?

■ Moko, the brilliant genius who excels at developing original mechaNext up is Moko, a Japanese LEGO builder skilled at creating hardcore sci-fi mecha and adept at stacking to create heavy armor designs. In addition to putting great effort into outlining the mechanical forms, Moko also prefers to use 2-3 colors of bricks as the main color scheme, ensuring the finished product achieves balance in both form and color.
Another interesting "charming contrast" design in Moko's works is placing various animals into the cockpits of fierce mecha, showcasing his playful side with superb skill.

Not just original models, Moko also has many works based on popular IP characters or reinterpreted versions. For example, this Gundam robot, with its significantly adjusted proportions and overall "Super Robot" aesthetic, is incredibly cool.

From "Armored Trooper VOTOMS," Moko has also perfectly recreated the Gilgamesh Army's official main Armored Trooper "Scopedog" using LEGO. From the rounded head design, shoulder armor, and classic triple-lens turret, to the machine's proportions and refined smooth armor, everything is excellently executed.

▼ Moko even brought his Spectacled Bulldog creation to Japan's "Inagi-Nagashima Station" for a photo with a giant statue, which is truly romantic.
This Transformers LEGO creation is also quite impressive, faithfully recreating Optimus Prime's character features in a compact size and incorporating a transformation mechanism. The head and arms, which can be neatly stowed away after stretching and rotating, are particularly ingenious.

■ FukuTaku: The Pixel Art King, a True Color MagicianNext up is another Japanese LEGO creation master, FukuTaku. Even among the many MOC (My Own Creation) experts worldwide, FukuTaku's works are truly unique and leave a deep impression at first glance! A huge fan of the Dragon Quest series, he excels at combining pixel art style with his expertise in color theory to create characters with magical visual effects.

Unlike many designers who try to minimize the stud texture of LEGO bricks, FukuTaku does the exact opposite, making LEGO studs the signature element of his pixel art style. Achieving an almost all-encompassing stud-based stacking while also considering structural integrity and weight balance is incredibly challenging. Taking the "Dragonlord" (龍王) big boss character shown below as an example, FukuTaku stated that the wings and tail were only completed after numerous adjustments.

Even for the Colossus (巨像兵), which is monochromatic in the game's setting, FukuTaku utilizes parts of the same color family but with varying shades to create an illusion of light and shadow, further enhancing the visual appeal and uniqueness.

And FukuTaku's original work, "Phoenix" (火の鳥), unveiled in June 2024, demonstrates a mastery in both sculptural completeness and color distribution!

■ Chris McVeigh: Master of LEGO-fying Retro Electronics and Everyday Scenes into Exquisite MiniaturesNext, we will introduce Chris McVeigh, a Canadian who transitioned from a seasoned AFOL to a LEGO Group designer. Let's rewind to 2017. Back then, LEGO articles online and numerous Instagram posts shared by LEGO fans frequently showcased nostalgic video games, retro computer equipment, and sets of office desks, chairs, and supplies, all built with LEGO. The common characteristics of these works were their compact size, precise and vivid replication of forms, and the sleekness achieved by significantly minimizing the visible studs.

Just from the model of the office desk, chair, and daily essentials shown below, one can glimpse Chris McVeigh's formidable design prowess and his building philosophy of "using the most appropriate parts in the most suitable places." The keyboard with its inherent tilt, the stapler composed of three pieces, the curved desk lamp stand – truly impressive.

His "Brick Sketches" series, which he began creating in 2013, became an official LEGO product seven years later in 2020! Chris McVeigh also moved from Canada to Denmark, officially becoming a member of the LEGO design team. Subsequent sets he designed include "10306 Atari 2600," "21060 Himeji Castle," and two modular buildings: "LEGO 10278 Police Station," and "10326 Natural History Museum," among others.
■ Andrea Lattanzio: Realizing a Romantic Lifestyle with LEGONext, we turn our attention to the creations of Andrea, a LEGO fan from Milan, Italy. The original design for the stunning "21338 A-Frame Cabin" in the LEGO Ideas series is precisely Andrea's work. Unlike the previous LEGO creators we introduced, who focused on perfecting a specific form, Andrea excels at transforming LEGO into a medium for crafting his ideal life, building one beautiful and aspirational scene after another.

Just as Andrea initially infused his A-frame cabin with the story of "two brothers escaping the high-pressure city life to live in an old cabin in the woods," Andrea almost always shares some background settings and short stories in his latest creations. We naturally follow his footsteps, slowly appreciating the beauty of the details in Andrea's works. For instance, the explorer at Crystal Mill in Colorado, Santa Claus's romantic residence with a red and white jeep, and stilt houses with thousands of years of history, all reveal his love for natural environments and historical architecture. His observational skills and ability to materialize them through building are truly exceptional.

▼ Displaying LEGO creations in a fish tank to create a glass terrarium collection is absolutely stunning! Image credit:nortonsevenfour

▼ Or scenes like this, built between mountain cliffs with a strong fantasy vibe, are also incredibly captivating. Directly beneath the house is Fenrir, the giant wolf guardian – what a cool concept. Image credit:nortonsevenfour

▼ In addition to exquisite architecture and natural environment scenes, Andrea is also skilled at creating vintage-looking old cars, reinterpreting them with various color combinations, or adding cool off-road camping gear to showcase an appealing lifestyle. Image credit:nortonsevenfour

▼ Using an abandoned bus as a base, the building style imbued with a post-apocalyptic atmosphere is also very appealing. Image credit:nortonsevenfour

■ LEGO7: Taiwan's Most Frequent Creator Using the Friends SeriesHaving introduced so many international LEGO masters, let's now take a look at our excellent local Taiwanese LEGO creator! First up is LEGO7, the original designer behind the LEGO Ideas series "21334 Jazz Quartet." LEGO7's creative range is incredibly broad, encompassing human figures, animals, sci-fi mechs, beautifully designed LEGO installations, and everyday items.
For me, LEGO7's most outstanding and difficult-to-replicate skill is his shaping of human proportions and forms, especially the two-stud-wide geometric style faces, hairstyles, and the depiction of movement. Each new creation is full of surprises; interestingly, LEGO7 also particularly loves using parts from the Friends series in his creations, often leading people to discover more possibilities for part usage.

Taking the 2018 creation of Santa Claus on a flying snowboard as an example, the editor still remembers being immediately captivated by LEGO7's powerful ability to capture dynamic motion. Whether it's the Santa hat being buffeted by strong winds, the angle of the arms, the technique of bending the legs, or the expressive face with its long beard, everything is incredibly lifelike. And on the base, he didn't forget to incorporate thoughtful details like LEGO elf minifigures and gifts.

Beyond creating MOCs from scratch, LEGO7 also excels at modifying existing sets or adding extra elements, drawing inspiration from them. For instance, his recent modified version of the Creator series "31152 Astronaut" showcases his strengths by adjusting the astronaut's physique for greater realism, adding a more substantial space backpack, and an extendable robotic arm. The overall look is absolutely stunning.

▼ Paired with a transparent helmet that fully reveals the head, it perfectly expresses his signature head-sculpting style. Image credit:lego7_creation

▼ He also transformed the Technic series "42177 Mercedes-Benz G 500" into a Mars rover, adding a team of crew members to create a magnificent yet adorable expedition! Under his modifications, official sets become much more engaging and their possibilities greatly expanded. Image credit:lego7_creation

Among his animal LEGO creations, the Floral Owl, inspired by ikebana (flower arrangement art) and composed of various flowers from the "10313 Wildflower Bouquet," is undoubtedly one of his most representative and unique works.

In addition to animal-themed LEGO creations, Gou Shen Zhuan Chuang also excels in scene production, detail expression, and color presentation. Taking this Ocean Amusement Park as an example, one can see that he not only packs the scene with intricate details but also utilizes foreground and background arrangements and elevation differences to enrich the overall visual layering. The ocean and sunset backdrop, rendered in mosaic form at the rear, is also a fantastic element.

■ JK Brickworks: Imbuing LEGO with Life Through Countless Clever MechanismsThe last LEGO MOC creator expert for this feature – or rather, the last duo – is JK Brickworks, known for their mastery in using gears and Technic parts to build interlocking mechanisms that bring LEGO bricks to life. They are also one of the original designers behind the LEGO Ideas sets "21305 Maze" and "21315 LEGO Pop-Up Book." JK Brickworks began in 2014, a LEGO design brand formed by combining the first letters of Jason Allemann and his partner Kristal's names.
▼ The man in the picture below is Jason Allemann, and the woman is Kristal. Image credit:jkbrickworks

Since 2014, they have created countless classic models, from a beating heart and a man operating a lawnmower, to a Star Wars TIE Fighter & X-Wing chase, a rolling ball kinetic sculpture that you could seemingly watch forever, and an automatically operating ski hill. Be prepared to lose track of time (laughs) before clicking into JK Brickworks' Instagram page.
The editor can only express profound admiration for their mechanism designs. Whether it's relatively intuitive interlocking mechanisms composed of a few parts, or precise mechanism combinations synthesized from multiple units using numerous adapters, all are completed through JK Brickworks' repeated testing. Each natural and smooth movement embodies a distillation of over twenty years of LEGO building experience.
