JAKKS Pacific, an American toy manufacturer with numerous game and film/TV IP licenses, recently launched several new products based on the classic adult animated sitcom "The Simpsons." In this article, we'll take a look at three particularly interesting items: the "Furious Homer," "Radioactive Man," and "Vampire Mr. Burns" five-inch action figures. Each figure has a suggested retail price of US$26.99 and is expected to be released in Q3 2024!
"The Simpsons," created by Matthew Groening for the American Fox Broadcasting Company, has aired 36 seasons since its debut in 1989. The story revolves around the bizarre daily lives of the protagonist Simpson family and the town of Springfield, with plots that often align with current events, sparking much discussion and even accurately predicting major events such as the election of former US President Donald Trump.
"Furious Homer" is from Season 13, Episode 18, "I'm Furious." Bart creates a webcomic about his dad Homer's anger management issues. At the end of the episode, Homer falls into an inflatable pool filled with green paint after triggering a trap Bart set in the treehouse, finally losing his temper and rampaging like the Hulk, smashing everything around him. The product faithfully recreates Homer covered in green paint and includes an inflatable pool filled with green paint and a broken fence accessory, allowing fans to recreate Homer's furious scene!
"Radioactive Man" is from Season 7, Episode 2, "Radioactive Man." A live-action movie of the famous comic character Radioactive Man begins filming in Springfield. Unexpectedly, the production team casts Milhouse to play his superhero sidekick, Fallout Boy, because Bart is two inches too short. The product faithfully recreates the look of Radioactive Man, Bart and Milhouse's favorite character, and appears taller than other figures in the series. The radiation logo on his chest has a glowing function, and accessories include a three-dimensional Radioactive Man comic cover for display!
Finally, "Vampire Mr. Burns" is from the third of three terrifying short stories in the Halloween special "Treehouse of Horror IV" from Season 5, Episode 5. Homer's stingy boss, Mr. Burns, invites the Simpson family to his mansion for dinner, but in reality, Mr. Burns intends to turn them into vampires like himself. The product faithfully recreates Vampire Mr. Burns's butt-hair hairstyle and includes his coffin accessory from the episode. His pale skin, made with UV-sensitive material, emits a faint glow in the dark, making him look extra eerie!
