Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE has announced the latest product in its Gundam series diorama model line, the "Realistic Model Series G Diorama Model" series, with the release of "New Yark City Ruins (Molded Color Edition)" from "Mobile Suit Gundam," scheduled for late December 2024.
This diorama depicts the main battlefield from "Mobile Suit Gundam" Episode 10, "Garma's Fall." Once the most prosperous city in North America, "New Yark City" has now become a lifeless, desolate ruin, where the shattered remnants of skyscrapers serve as optimal cover for Mobile Suit engagements. What remains unchanged, however, is the class society led by so-called "elites" like Garma. The stark contrast between the upper class attending elegant social parties and soldiers risking their lives amidst fierce artillery fire further highlights the irrationality and ruthlessness of war.
The "G Diorama Model New Yark City Ruins (Molded Color Edition)" is a modified version of the previously released standard edition. The product includes two types of buildings, two electrical towers, broken ground, and other ruin parts, along with water-slide decals with printed patterns. All parts are presented in their unpainted molded color, allowing beginners to easily assemble it without professional skills. Model enthusiasts, on the other hand, can freely paint it to achieve more realistic details. It can be displayed with separately sold 1/144 scale Gundam models.
