Bandai Namco Toys & Hobby's GASHAPON capsule toy brand, known for its "Mobile Suit Gundam" themed capsule toy series "CAPSULE ACTION", has announced the latest limited edition product, "RX-78-2 Gundam ~GUNDAM BASE LIMITED ver.~", scheduled for release in the second week of August 2024. This product is currently exclusively available at Bandai's official Gundam model flagship stores, GUNDAM BASE Tokyo, Fukuoka, and ANNEX locations.
The articulated capsule toy "Mobile Suit Gundam CAPSULE ACTION" is a new series that transforms mobile suits from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series into approximately 9 cm tall articulated figures. The overall design features more layered, high-density details compared to the original settings, with paintwork reproducing the various colors and printed body markings for a more refined texture. The neck, waist, and limbs all feature a certain level of articulated joint design, allowing for dynamic posing with the included weaponry.
This limited edition "RX-78-2 Gundam ~GUNDAM BASE LIMITED ver.~" is based on modifications to previously released RX-78 series Gundam products. It similarly reinterprets the armor detail lines to create a lean and powerful physique for the original Gundam. The neck, waist, limbs, and skirt armor all feature articulated mechanisms, allowing for natural high-kneeling poses.
