Following the previous "Cammy," American high-quality collectible brand Premium Collectibles Studio (PCS) will launch three new products in its "Premier Series" fighting video game Street Fighter fitness-themed series: the "Ryu" Powerlifting 1/4 Scale Collectible Statues in Classic, SF6, and Evil Ryu versions. Each is priced at a suggested retail of US$675, with pre-orders opening at noon ET on August 15, 2024!
Ryu is the protagonist of the Street Fighter series, a martial artist who constantly travels and trains himself in search of stronger opponents, learning the "Ansatsuken" (Assassination Fist) fighting style. However, in several titles, Ryu has continuously struggled with the "Satsui no Hado" (Surge of Murderous Intent) within him. If he cannot control it, he will completely lose his sanity and become a ruthless killing machine. It wasn't until Street Fighter 6 that he successfully overcame the Satsui no Hado and continued to strive for greater heights.
For this product, concept design illustrator Edwin Huang depicted Ryu in his three appearances from Street Fighter, Street Fighter 6, and Street Fighter ZERO 2, showcasing him during his workout. Each version transforms his original costume into a more athletic style, designing appropriate sports shorts for Ryu. Whether it's the somewhat weathered bearded look from Street Fighter 6 or the powerful, overwhelming presence of Evil Ryu's rampage in Street Fighter ZERO 2, both are perfectly captured. The paint application also enhances the light and shadow contrast of each statue. Standing approximately 53.3 cm tall, this large size commands a powerful presence even with simple display!
