Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE has announced a new product in its completed space battleship model series, "Cosmo Fleet Special," featuring the "Reinforce Jr. Re." from "Mobile Suit V Gundam," slated for release in late October 2024.
The Reinforce Jr. was rapidly modified by the League Militaire after capturing the Zanscare Empire's latest large battleship, "Squid I." It was built using the undamaged parts of the heavily damaged battleships Reinforce and Gaunland as its foundation. Although its appearance was as bizarre as a chimera, and it suffered from design flaws such as blind spots in its attack range, it was an extremely valuable large battleship for the resource-strapped League Militaire at the time. In the final battle for Angel Halo, it made a sacrificial solo charge, single-handedly annihilating the Zanscare Empire's Motorrad Fleet.
The "Cosmo Fleet Special Reinforce Jr. Re." is based on the 2014 release, utilizing existing parts to perfectly recreate the appearance of three battleships assembled together. It features a renewed, subtle weathering paint job, and the included water-slide decals with hull markings further enhance its realism. The ship's six "Mega Particle Cannon" turrets can each rotate, and the bow can display the "Beam Shield" deployed state through interchangeable parts. Accessories also include a same-scale White Ark and mini Mobile Suit models, which can be displayed on the catapult deck.
