Dark Tides Surge as a Shadowy Force Rises from the Peace! A Review of Hasbro's Star Wars The Black Series 6-Inch "The Acolyte" Figures

To all toy lovers who are fans of "Star Wars," have you finished watching the latest series exclusively on Disney+—"The Acolyte"?

The story of "The Acolyte" begins with a series of bizarre Jedi assassinations, set approximately one hundred years before "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace" (132 BBY) during the late High Republic Era. Jedi Master Sol is tasked with investigating the murder of his colleagues, leading to an unexpected reunion with his former Padawan, Osha. Amidst lurking dangers, he confronts the darkness of his past, allowing fans to re-examine the mysterious Jedi Order from an unprecedented perspective.

To coincide with the series' release, the internationally renowned toy manufacturer Hasbro has launched new action figures from "The Acolyte" in its Black Series 6-inch figure line! The widely beloved Star Wars The Black Series is a line that Hasbro started in 2013. Diverging from the then-mainstream 3.75-inch figures, The Black Series adopted a larger 1:12 scale, recreating classic Star Wars characters in a 6-inch format. Not only do they feature meticulously researched and detailed costumes and accessories, but the figures themselves also boast highly articulated joints for maximum flexibility. Furthermore, with the introduction of "Photo Real Technology" in 2018, the likeness of live-action head sculpts from films and series has been significantly enhanced. Whether for simple display or in-hand play, the comprehensive character selection and versatile playability are sure to satisfy different types of collectors, making it an outstanding Star Wars figure line with excellent value.

This review will bring you the brand-new "The Acolyte" Black Series 6-inch wave. Let's hold these figures in our hands and journey together to the golden age of the Galactic Republic!

▼Here are the stars of our review, including six individually packaged action figures. The transparent window on the front allows collectors to inspect the face sculpts and confirm the parts.

▼The side of the box features a portrait of the character. By arranging the boxes of the same series in order, you can create a unique mural of the cast!

▼"Osha Aniseya", portrayed by American actress Amandla Stenberg. Raised as a witch in her youth, she later became a Jedi Padawan due to certain events. After leaving her Jedi training, she became a starship mechanic for the Trade Federation, only to be drawn back into the conflict between light and dark by the Jedi Master assassination case.

▼The figure is sculpted in her early-series outfit, complete with rich and intricate accessories all over her body.

▼The head sculpt aims to replicate Amandla Stenberg's appearance in the series, capturing her memorable dreadlock hairstyle.

▼The included backpack can be freely put on or taken off. Details like the leather stitching and water bottle on top are all present.

▼It comes with her repair droid companion "Pip," who interacts frequently with Osha in the show. Its head is articulated for turning and can be stowed in the leather pouch on Osha's right hip.

▼An alternate, deployed version is also included, which, of course, she can hold.

▼The Stun Blaster can also be removed from its holster and held by Osha.

▼Burdened by a painful past and unable to overcome her grief, this strong woman must once again face these difficult memories.

▼"Jedi Master Sol", portrayed by South Korean actor Lee Jung-jae, is the first Jedi in the Star Wars series to be portrayed by an Asian actor. He possesses masterful lightsaber skills and combat prowess, and is also a calm and gentle mentor who once taught the orphaned Osha. However, it seems there is a dark past in his heart that he can neither forget nor erase...

▼He is featured in his Master attire from the show and comes with a blue lightsaber and a Jedi cloak.

▼The head sculpt uses Photo Real Technology to replicate Lee Jung-jae's facial features. What do you all think?

▼As with past figures, the lightsaber blade can be detached, and the hilt can be stored on his belt.

▼Thanks to the highly articulated joints throughout the body, recreating his signature two-handed lightsaber pose is a piece of cake!

▼Yes, this angle is a dead ringer!

▼The cloak can be freely put on or taken off. It's worth noting that the sewing method for this cloak has been modified; for example, the hood is no longer designed to be pulled up. The benefit of this is that the shape of the shoulders more accurately reflects the draped look seen in the show, which deserves a thumbs-up.

▼With the robe off, you can get a clearer view of the details on his bracers.

▼The reunited master and apprentice, their uncertain paths will cross once more.

▼"Padawan Jecki Lon", portrayed by Spanish actress Dafne Keen. A Jedi Padawan studying under Master Sol, she possesses a calmness and composure beyond her years and is deeply trusted by her teacher.

▼She comes with her signature green lightsaber and is also sculpted wearing her Jedi robes.

▼The head sculpt highly restores Dafne Keen's facial contours and the distinctive Padawan braid, while also recreating her racial features as a Theelin-human hybrid.

▼Continuing from above, the detail on the back of her hands is also impeccable!

▼Wielding her green lightsaber, she is a formidable duelist when she gets serious!

▼Her Jedi cloak can also be removed.

▼How will this current master and apprentice duo, Jecki and Sol, face the surging dark tide?

▼Hey, it's normal for young people to be on their devices once in a while (huh?)

▼"Jedi Knight Yord Fandar", portrayed by American actor Charlie Barnett. A young and spirited Jedi Knight who is slightly brash but adheres to the code. He was a Jedi apprentice alongside a young Osha.

▼He comes with a yellow lightsaber and is sculpted in his robed appearance from the show.

▼The head sculpt also uses printing to replicate Charlie Barnett's face, as well as his eye-catching hairstyle that's hard to miss in the show. The earring in his left ear is another detail not to be overlooked.

▼Even with the robe on, the joints underneath remain fully mobile.

▼The right hand sculpt is worth mentioning—it's not just a standard, stiff gripping hand!

▼A two-handed sword grip? Of course, no problem!

▼The Jedi cloak can also be removed, and the lightsaber hilt can be worn on his belt.

▼The bracers are also worth admiring in detail, and their design is completely different from Sol's!

▼"Jedi Master Indara", portrayed by Canadian actress Carrie-Anne Moss. The Jedi Master who is killed in the prologue, she was the leader of the investigation into the witch coven on the planet Brendok.

▼She comes with her signature green lightsaber, and the body is an all-new sculpt to recreate her attire and physique from the show.

▼The head sculpt also uses printing to replicate Carrie-Anne Moss's features, and the two dots next to her left eye haven't been missed!

▼The inner garments have also received a partial weathering application, which helps to accentuate their texture.

▼Her robe can also be removed, and the lightsaber hilt can be stored on her belt—it's practically standard issue for Jedi Knights.

▼It's truly a rare treat to be able to collect so many Jedi Knights in a single Black Series wave.

▼"Mae (Assassin)", who has the exact same appearance as Osha, is in fact Osha's twin sister and a survivor of Brendok. Reappearing from the shadows after sixteen years, what unspeakable secret does she carry?

▼Her mysterious assassin look from the show is recreated, and she generously comes with four daggers.

▼The mask is recreated using a soft plastic part and can be put on or taken off by removing the head.

▼The head sculpt captures Amandla Stenberg's second role in the series.

▼Try to pose the figure in Mae's cool assassin stance from the show!

▼The purple fabric outer robe can also be easily removed, showing off Mae's long braided hair.

▼Life's choices are sometimes easy, sometimes difficult. Which decision leads to a bright future, and which to endless darkness?

▼For Star Wars toy fans who haven't seen the series yet, go catch up now!

▼And while you're watching, don't forget our Star Wars The Black Series 6-inch figures. That's all for this review of "The Acolyte" wave. See you next time!
