US toy manufacturer Diamond Select Toys is set to release this August a new product from "Game of Thrones": the "Drogon" 1/2 scale resin bust! The suggested retail price is US$250, limited to 1000 pieces worldwide.
Drogon is the largest and most ferocious of the three dragons owned by "the Dragon Queen" Daenerys Targaryen. In the series, it also has the most interactions with Daenerys, arguably the dragon with the deepest bond. With its massive and fierce presence, Drogon can breathe out almost indefensible raging flames, instantly incinerating the enemy's bodies, lives, and hopes... Drogon's rampage across the Reach battlefield in Season 7, Episode 4, is quite iconic, and ordinary soldiers' arrows couldn't harm it in the slightest until Bronn used a heavy scorpion to injure Drogon.
This time, DST has chosen a large 1/2 scale to create this fearsome dragon. Standing at 12 inches (approximately 30 cm) tall, it meticulously sculpts Drogon's highly organic head and neck with a high level of craftsmanship. The rough skin, four massive horns, dense spikes covering the area behind its eyes and jaw, as well as the layered scales, dorsal fins, and other details are all exquisitely rendered. The intimidating eyes and the depiction of the inside of its mouth are also incredibly lifelike. Coupled with a dragon egg base that echoes elements from the series, the overall piece is truly super cool.
