American toy brand NECA recently unveiled a series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed products launched at the well-known US retailer Target. In this article, we'll be looking at a new product based on the classic Archie Comics series—the "Stump Wrestling Turtles" 7-inch action figure set, which is now available at Target physical stores!
The Turtles' wrestling attire first appeared in issue #7 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures series, co-created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and published by Archie Comics in 1989. The turtle heroes were transported to Stump Asteroid, where they met Stump and his financial partner Sling, and were forced to represent the galaxy in wrestling matches, facing a variety of powerful opponents.
This "Stump Wrestling Turtles" 7-inch action figure set features the Turtles' wrestler designs from the comic. Whether it's Leonardo with his goggle-helmet and a Taijitu symbol on his chest, Raphael in his all-black battle suit, Donatello in his red and yellow attire, or Michelangelo with his yellow bandana, all details are meticulously recreated through sculpting and paintwork! The figures are also produced with new specifications, featuring significantly improved articulation in the head, waist, elbows, and side of the legs, allowing for easier posing in various combat stances and perfect for pairing with other Stump Wrestling themed figures!
The accessories include multiple sets of interchangeable hands that can be swapped between the Turtles, as well as items used in the series such as a folding chair, hammer, fire extinguisher, ice cream cone, and soda can. The packaging features a collector-friendly window box design, and illustrations for this product were specially drawn by Ken Mitchroney and Gary Fields, artists for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures, making it highly collectible!
