BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan, known for its diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series, today officially announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", the 'Psycho Gundam Mk-II', slated for release in March 2025.
The MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II is a successor unit developed by the Murasame Research Lab based on combat data from the original Psycho Gundam. It retains the impressive 40-meter height and features improved weaponry and power systems, enabling operations in space. The unit is equipped with a Minovsky Craft System, I-Field, and MA transformation mechanism, along with numerous multi-directional beam cannons and Reflector Bits, making it an even more terrifying weapon of destruction. However, the Titans exploited the brainwashed and modified Rosamia Badam as its pilot, tragically repeating the fate of the enhanced human girl, Four Murasame.
The 'HG 1/144 Psycho Gundam Mk-II' is produced using the latest color separation and part division techniques. Its purple body armor, red and yellow lines, and yellow thrusters are precisely recreated through molded part colors. It also boasts a high level of detailed sculpting, resulting in an impressive 27 cm tall model upon completion. In addition to posing it in Mobile Suit form with its articulated joints, the unit can also retract its head into its chest, recreating its 'Mobile Fortress' transformation mechanism.
Accessories include 10 Reflector Bits (stored state) and 10 Reflector Bits (deployed state), single core wires to recreate the arm-launched state, and yellow beam effects for the wrist and finger beam cannons. These can be displayed with an equally impressive number of clear stands to showcase scenes of overwhelming firepower. Furthermore, it includes the classic "half-damaged head" part, allowing for the recreation of the head cockpit ejection scene when piloted by Ple Two in the sequel "ZZ".
