Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division announced the latest product from the new anime "Mashin Creation Chronicle", "Kirinmaru", is scheduled for release in December 2024.
"Mashin Creation Chronicle" is a completely new work that inherits the essence and some settings of "Mashin Hero Wataru", passing this series on to the next generation. The story's protagonist, Hoshibe Wataru, is a fourth-grade elementary school video creator who dreams of becoming a superstar. One day, he is summoned to the alternate world "Chubukai" to become its savior. In this block-filled alternate world, reminiscent of a sandbox game, Wataru can use blocks to create various objects, including the Mashin "Ryujinmaru" which houses a dragon soul. They embark on a journey to defeat the final boss "Enjo Tatsuru", fighting alongside companions such as the master swordsman Mifurain and popular VTuber Maro.
The Mashin "Kirinmaru" model kit, used by Tenbu Kakeru, Wataru's cousin who also came to the alternate world, features a design that requires no tools like nippers. Parts can be detached from the runner by hand, and the original molded colors of gold, white, black, and gray largely reproduce its appearance from the show. The golden ring blade weapon can be stored on its back or held with both hands to recreate battle poses.
This "Mashin Creation Chronicle" series of model kits adopts a common movable frame structure. In addition to achieving an excellent range of motion in its 3-4 head-tall proportion, allowing for the recreation of battle scenes and special moves from the show, it also allows for free swapping of parts such as the head, body, limbs, and armor using standardized pegs and joints. This enables mixing and matching parts from the "Mashin Creation Chronicle" series to create unique Mashin.
