MegaHouse, a Japanese toy company, has announced an update to their high-quality action figure series, "VARIABLE ACTION HEROES," for their previously released popular anime "One Piece" themed product, the "Monkey D. Luffy" action figure, which will receive an updated version—"Monkey D. Luffy Ver.1.5." The suggested retail price is 10,450 JPY, with an estimated release in late February 2025!
The version released in 2014 featured Luffy's classic post-timeskip appearance. This updated "Monkey D. Luffy Ver.1.5" adopts Luffy's look from the Onigashima Arc during his fierce battle with Kaido, featuring his yellow jeans. The new version retains the figure's high overall articulation. Paired with six interchangeable hands and three interchangeable face parts, dynamic poses such as his Gear Second charging stance can be easily achieved. The sculpting and paintwork meticulously recreate the wrinkle details of his yellow pants and purple sash, faithfully reproducing his appearance during the battle against Kaido!
Furthermore, a major highlight of this release is the inclusion of the black coat he wore in the Onigashima Arc. Crafted from fabric material, the coat's overall shape and purple inner lining are meticulously stitched. When draped over Luffy, it powerfully showcases his aura as the Fifth Emperor!
