KOTOBUKIYA, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced that its highly flexible original plastic model series 'HEXA GEAR' will release its latest product, 'Bulkarm α Lux Ape,' in February 2025.

The Lux Ape is a modification of the 'Bulkarm α,' the most widespread and longest-used Hexa Gear in history, with numerous derivative models. It retains the frame but discards the characteristic heavy armor, instead using a simple light alloy frame and equipping a bucket on its left arm to disguise itself as civilian heavy construction equipment. In reality, it is a guerrilla warfare unit operated by neutral forces, not affiliated with the Liberty Alliance or SANAT. By shedding its heavy armor, it gains excellent mobility and is equipped with a head unit featuring extremely high night vision capabilities and a jet-black body coating, striking at the main forces of both major factions like an ape attacking from the darkness.

The "Hexa Gear Bulkarm α Lux Ape" is based on the modified frame of the previously released Bulkarm α series. It utilizes new parts and molding colors to recreate the light alloy frame of the entire unit, the head unit specialized for night vision, and the large bucket assembly on the left arm. It also comes with various armaments such as a machine gun, heat knife, and entrenching tool.

The overall joints also feature a flexible range of motion, and each finger on the hands is independently posable, enhancing expressive possibilities and allowing it to firmly grip various weapons. In addition to the standard front-to-back opening mechanism, the cockpit also features a separate top hatch opening mechanism. When the large bucket assembly on the left arm is bent, all connecting mechanisms, from the hydraulic cylinder to various joints, feature an interlocking design.
