GASHAPON, the gashapon toy brand from Bandai Co., Ltd. of Japan, today announced the latest product from its "Mobile Suit Gundam" themed gashapon series "CAPSULE ACTION", the "Strike Gundam SP Set", scheduled for release in January 2025.
"CAPSULE ACTION" is a new series of products sold in gashapon toy format, transforming mobile suits from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series into approximately 9 cm tall articulated figures. The overall design features multi-layered, high-density details compared to the original settings, reproducing the colors of each part through paintwork and printed with body markings for a more refined texture. Including the neck, waist, and limbs, all feature a certain level of articulated joint design, allowing for play with the included armaments.
This time's release, the "Strike Gundam SP Set", is based on and modified from the previously released standard version of Strike Gundam. It includes two mobile suits produced with new molded color parts: "Strike Gundam (Unactivated Mode)" and "Strike Rouge", as well as the newly sculpted "Ootori Striker Pack" equipment for Strike Rouge.
When combining Strike Rouge with the Ootori Striker Pack, it can reproduce the form that appeared in the Remastered version. It includes movable mechanisms for the wings, beam cannons, and railguns. The mounted "Grand Slam" (Large Anti-Ship Sword) comes with a beam blade effect and can be detached for Strike Rouge to equip. The Strike Gundam's back and Striker Packs in this series all adopt the same specifications, allowing for free interchangeability with previously released "Striker Packs" to create various forms.
