The collectible manufacturer Figurama Collectors, under its "Elite Solo" series, has unveiled a 20th-anniversary commemorative product based on the classic anime "Elfen Lied": the "ELFEN LIED LUCY 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION" 1/6 scale diorama statue! Limited to 500 pieces worldwide, with a suggested retail price of $695 USD, it is expected to be released in the first to second quarter of 2026.
The manga series "Elfen Lied," created by Japanese manga artist Lynn Okamoto, was broadcast on Japan's AT-X channel in 2004. The story depicts humanity's unexplained mutation, leading to the emergence of female mutants known as Diclonius. These beings develop horn-like protrusions resembling cat ears on their heads and can manipulate invisible, transparent vectors (tentacles), possessing astonishing power capable of destroying humanity. Consequently, the Japanese government established an isolated island research facility to quarantine and study the Diclonius. The story begins with the mutant girl Lucy brutally slaughtering security personnel and escaping the research facility. During her escape, she is shot in the head, resulting in memory loss and a split personality. She is rescued by the male protagonist Kouta, and due to her only making cat-like sounds, her innocent and simple personality is named Nyu.
The "ELFEN LIED LUCY 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION" 1/6 scale diorama statue is inspired by the anime's impressive and ultra-violent opening scene of her escape from the research lab. It meticulously captures Lucy with her bandages unraveling and the research equipment shattered, creating a shocking display. Lucy's pink hair flows dynamically, and her closed eyes give her a cold yet serene appearance. The laboratory equipment is utterly destroyed, and the blood of all those who stood in her way is depicted through red translucent resin, splattering and staining everywhere... showcasing Lucy's unparalleled destructive power and thoroughly recreating a terrifyingly bloody scene.
Her elegant and pale body, stepping with light yet unstoppable strides, creates a striking contrast within the entire scene, perfectly conveying the eerie atmosphere of the work. The design also includes Easter egg details such as a fountain pen piercing a guard's neck and the cup belonging to Kurama's secretary, Kisaragi. The important music box from the series is also hidden within, symbolizing Lucy's inherent good side. Additionally, this product comes with an anime 20th-anniversary commemorative badge!
