The Danish LEGO toy company recently announced several new products celebrating the 25th anniversary of "LEGO STAR WARS" in 2024. This article will bring you product information for item number 75397, the "Jabba's Sail Barge"! It is expected to be released on October 6, 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$499.99.
One of the classic scenes in "Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi" takes place at the Sarlacc Pit (also known as the Sarlacc's Lair) in the Tatooine desert. Jabba was seated in this luxurious sail barge, threatening the captive Princess Leia, saying, "Soon you will learn to appreciate me," while ordering his henchmen to push Luke, Han Solo, and Chewbacca into the pit for execution. However, events did not unfold as Jabba had imagined. Luke, having retrieved his lightsaber, single-handedly turned the tide of battle, causing many of Jabba's henchmen to fall into the pit, and Jabba himself was strangled to death by Leia with a chain amidst the chaos.
This "75397 Jabba's Sail Barge," commercialized under the Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) specifications, boasts 3942 pieces. Once assembled, it reaches an astonishing length of 77 cm. While faithfully recreating its exterior design, it also features adjustable fabric sails, a removable top deck, and side panels that can be folded down to reveal a richly detailed interior! This includes the cockpit, a prison cell, a weapons locker, stairs leading to the top deck, and more.
The minifigure lineup is also a major highlight! It includes the massive Jabba the Hutt, Jabba's majordomo Bib Fortuna, the cackling Kowakian monkey-lizard pet (Salacious Crumb) always by Jabba's side, the blue-skinned Max Rebo, the Gamorrean Guard (often nicknamed "pig soldiers"), Princess Leia in her slave outfit, C-3PO, R2-D2 with a bar table as seen in the film, and Jabba's henchmen whose names are generally hard to recall: Vizam, Wooof, and Kithaba, totaling 11 characters. When combined with the previously released "75396 Desert Skiff & Sarlacc Pit," you can fully recreate the iconic movie scene.
