Japan's FLARE Co., Ltd. (株式会社フレア) has once again announced a new addition to their pre-painted figure series from "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition," a collaboration between popular illustrator Shunya Yamashita and sculptor Mitsumasa Yoshizawa! The latest product, "Rei Ayanami RENEWAL Ver.," has a suggested retail price of 22,880 JPY and is scheduled for release in August 2025.
Popular illustrator Shunya Yamashita and top-tier sculptor Mitsumasa Yoshizawa have finally collaborated again after 17 years! The "Shunya Yamashita x Mitsumasa Yoshizawa Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition Rei Ayanami RENEWAL Ver." PVC pre-painted figure is based on Shunya Yamashita's original costume illustration, reinterpreted as a three-dimensional model. Instead of using the molds from the product sold in 2007, the EVANGELION STORE exclusive GK kit molds were used as the base, thoroughly polished, and surface details digitally modeled. Applying the most exquisite paintwork to date, this long-discontinued classic masterpiece returns with unparalleled quality, allowing fans to relive its ineffable charm.
Mitsumasa Yoshizawa's unique color expression brings forth a more emotional demeanor compared to the original, with flushed cheeks and dewy lips exuding allure. The redesigned plugsuit tightly embraces her body, accentuating her exquisite curves, and boldly reveals the sensuality of her chest and hips. While there is no interchangeable head sculpt without bandages this time, the flowing bandages add a dynamic feel to the overall presentation.
