BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, under its S.H.Figuarts action figure brand, today (10th) unveiled a new product based on the popular anime "The Elusive Samurai"—the "Hojo Tokiyuki" action figure. It will retail for 9,900 JPY and is scheduled for release in February 2025!
"The Elusive Samurai" (逃げ上手の若君) is a historical manga by Yusei Matsui, author of the bestselling "Assassination Classroom," serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2021. In 2024, it was adapted into a TV anime by CloverWorks. The story recounts how, in 1333, the Tokuso Hojo clan was annihilated by the rebellious Ashikaga Takauji, and Kamakura fell. Hojo Tokiyuki, the Hojo heir who was always skilled at escaping, managed to flee by concealing his identity with the help of the Shinto priest Suwa Yorishige, hiding and preparing to launch a rebellion.
This S.H.Figuarts Hojo Tokiyuki stands approximately 13.5 cm tall, bringing to life the "Elusive Samurai" in his Shinto priestly attire. The unique hairstyle details are faithfully sculpted, and the ponytail features an articulated joint for dynamic posing. The clothing is cleverly segmented within the loose priestly robes, ensuring high poseability while maintaining the flowing feel of the garment. Accessories include his katana weapon, five interchangeable hands, and four interchangeable expression parts, allowing for the recreation of his various agile movements and expressions from the series!
