World-renowned Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys yesterday (23rd) unveiled a lineup of commemorative products celebrating the 11th anniversary of Secret Base! This article will introduce the new Artist Collection collaboration between Hot Toys and two Japanese sculptors, Takayuki Takeya and Yuji Oniki: the special edition 1/6 scale collectible figure of "Akaoni Samurai Predator" (tentative translation, Akaoni Samurai Predator)! It is expected to ship from Q3 to Q4 2025, with a suggested retail price of HKD 2,780.
This piece can be seen as another Predator masterpiece, reimagined with modern production techniques and elements of the Japanese Sengoku period 'Akazonae' (red-armored unit), building upon the "Samurai Predator" released in 2011. The full body armor, which combines ancient Japanese Sengoku traditions with the sci-fi setting of 'Alien vs. Predator', is presented in striking red. From the kabuto (helmet), shoulder armor, chest armor, limb guards, to the battle skirt crafted from composite materials, all showcase exquisite detail, while also demonstrating Takayuki Takeya's outstanding sculpting prowess and his renowned asymmetrical design style.
▼ The helmet part can also be replaced with a black mask.
The head sculpt is also crafted by sculptor Yuji Oniki, fully capturing the ferocious brutality of the Predator with its mask removed. The classic head silhouette, jaw, fangs, and other details are meticulously sculpted, while the dreadlocks are made of soft vinyl. With the movable jaw and two sets of mouth parts, a wide range of expressions can be achieved.
Weapon accessories include the wrist blades on the right forearm, a movable laser cannon on the left shoulder, four katana swords that can be mounted on the back, a metallic-textured katana, and a katana damaged by Alien acid blood with Alien cells on it. Paired with the Alien head as a trophy, it exudes immense power! The base even features the corpse of a hunted Alien, which is incredibly cool.
▼ The special edition will additionally include a newly designed helmet with a 'Skull' (髑) emblem on the front.
