TAITO "DRESSTA Dandadan Okarun (Transformed State)" Character Model Prototype First Revealed, a Dynamic and Powerful Pose Running Atop the Title Logo!

Japanese company TAITO (株式会社タイトー) has revealed the prototype for "Okarun (Transformed State)," a new product from their brand-new "DRESSTA" figure series, based on the popular manga "Dandadan," which is soon to be animated, on their official X account!

In "Dandadan" (ダンダダン), the male protagonist Ken Takakura, after a bet with the female protagonist Momo, ventures alone into a famous haunted tunnel. Unexpectedly, he is cursed by the yokai "Turbo Granny" (高速婆婆) lurking within the tunnel, who steals his "balls." After successfully fending off Granny, he makes a deal with her, allowing him to continuously use her abilities. In the manga, Momo, displeased that Takakura shares a name with her favorite idol and because Takakura is fond of occult phenomena, always refers to him as "Okarun" (オカルン). "Dandadan" is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2024, and the editor is incredibly excited!

From the single image currently released, we can see that TAITO has crafted Okarun in a cool, high-speed dashing pose, faithfully recreating his barefoot, white-haired, masked appearance after transforming with Turbo Granny's abilities. The glasses are rendered with transparent material, the relaxed arms reflect the character's languid state when using his powers, and the flowing wrinkles of his clothes enhance the overall dynamism and sense of speed! A major highlight this time is undoubtedly the base, where the "Dandadan" (ダンダダン) title logo has been crafted to resemble the block-like ground effects often used in anime, depicting Okarun dashing across the title logo. This ingenious approach significantly enhances the overall visual tension!
