Following their previous release of "Bebop and Rocksteady," JOYTOY, the high-quality articulated figure collectible brand from China, is once again launching a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed product—the "Shredder" 1/18 scale articulated figure! The suggested retail price is US$43.99, with an estimated release in November 2024!
Shredder, the leader of the Foot Clan soldiers, first appeared alongside the Turtle brothers in the very first independently published Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic by the Turtle Dads. His design was inspired by a trapezoidal cheese grater, which led to his name "Shredder." The initial concept didn't intend for Shredder to be the Turtles' long-term main antagonist; it was due to the unprecedented success of the 1987 animated TV series that most subsequent spin-offs adopted this setting.
This 1/18 scale Shredder articulated figure stands approximately 10.9 cm tall, showcasing his fully armored appearance. The various spikes, blades, and scratches on his silver armor are meticulously sculpted, while his purple cape appears to be made of soft plastic, maintaining a dynamic, flowing look! In terms of accessories, in addition to the clawed hand gesture extending from his armor, two other sets of interchangeable hands are included. A rich array of weapons is also provided for this evil martial arts master, including a katana, a short sword, two broken blade hilts, two double-headed kama blades, and a pair of shurikens!
In addition to a standard base printed with the Foot Clan logo, a small, meticulously painted manhole cover base fragment is also included. This can be combined via a tab system with the previously released "two goons," Bebop and Rocksteady, for display. With this, only the last quarter of the manhole cover remains, suggesting that their other accomplice, Krang, also has a chance to join this series, which is highly anticipated!
