Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, under its "ARTFX J" line which creates exquisite three-dimensional figures of Japanese anime and game characters, has officially announced the fourth product from the classic anime "Yu Yu Hakusho": the "ARTFX J Yu Yu Hakusho Kurama Ver.2" 1/8 scale figure! The suggested retail price is 25,300 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in April 2025.
Kurama (くらま), a popular character from "Yu Yu Hakusho," is a powerful demon fox with immense demonic energy. Originally a notorious thief from the Demon World, he operates in the human world under the identity of Shuichi Minamino. As a human, Kurama is an excellent student, a gentle and polite red-haired, green-eyed bishōnen; when transformed into his demon fox form, Yoko Kurama, he has long silver-white hair, golden eyes, a fox tail, and ears, displaying a proud and cold demeanor, and is skilled at using various demon world plants as weapons.
The "ARTFX J Yu Yu Hakusho Kurama Ver.2" 1/8 scale figure, with a total height of approximately 24.4 cm, is based on his appearance from the "Dark Tournament Saga." Compared to the previous version of Kurama, this figure features significant upgrades in sculpting and detail, thoroughly realizing the battle scenes from the series. Wielding his signature Rose Whip, the figure captures the dynamic elegance of his whip dance, with the hems of his martial arts robe fluttering with his movement, and a whirlwind effect of rose petals swirling around the base. Kurama's sharp gaze, slender legs, and other characteristic features are also vividly sculpted!
Displaying it alongside other "Yu Yu Hakusho Ver.2" series products allows for an even greater appreciation of the work's worldview.
Purchases made at Kotobukiya stores will include a bonus interchangeable head sculpt featuring a gentle smile!
