KADOKAWA Corporation's newly launched plastic model brand, "KADOKAWA PLASTIC MODEL SERIES" (KADOPLA), is releasing a new product based on the popular anime "Oshi no Ko" – the "Ai Hoshino DX ver." assembly model. It has a suggested retail price of 9,900 JPY and is scheduled for release in March 2025!
"Oshi no Ko" is a Japanese manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, which was adapted into an anime by Doga Kobo in 2023. The story follows Gorou Amemiya, an obstetrician working in a rural area, who unexpectedly becomes the attending physician for his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. However, he is murdered before Ai gives birth and is reincarnated as one of Ai's twins. Tragically, Ai is assassinated at her home one day, and as the twins grow up, they slowly uncover the truth behind Ai's murder.
This KADOPLA Ai Hoshino model stands approximately 15.6 cm tall upon completion. The DX version includes two body types: a gorgeous stage outfit and a refreshing original swimsuit. Through molded color separation and pre-painted parts, Ai Hoshino's dazzling figure in both of B-Komachi's absolute ace styles is faithfully recreated! Accessories include an essential microphone for an idol, as well as four expression parts: "smiling face," "winking face," "open-mouth smiling face," and "tongue-out face." Also included are eight interchangeable hand parts for each of the stage outfit and swimsuit styles, featuring iconic heart hands and peace signs, offering a wide variety of posing options!
Furthermore, purchases made on the KADOKAWA EC website will include an exclusive bonus "closed-eye smiling face" expression part, allowing collectors to more fully recreate Ai's captivating appearance!
