BANPRESTO, a prize figure brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, will release the latest item in its "Relax time" series, "Relax time - Ranma," based on the remake anime "Ranma 1/2." It is scheduled for release in January 2025!
The romantic comedy manga "Ranma 1/2," created by Rumiko Takahashi, was released in 1987 and is one of the childhood memories for many born in the 70s and 80s. Its humorous and comical plot, coupled with beautiful and handsome character designs, is considered one of Rumiko Takahashi's representative works. After 30 years, "Ranma 1/2" will be helmed by MAPPA for a new remake anime, with all the original voice actors returning! The protagonist, Ranma Saotome, traveled with his father to train in martial arts and accidentally fell into the "Spring of Drowned Girl" in Jusenkyo, a fictional location in Qinghai Province, China. He was cursed to transform into a female body when touched by cold water, but can return to his male form by pouring hot water on himself.
The BANPRESTO "-Relax time- Ranma" prize figure is designed with the characters' relaxing leisure time in mind, bringing to life Ranma's adorable female form after being doused with cold water! Standing approximately 12 cm tall, it features the pastel color palette of the remake anime, with light pink hair and a more youthful facial expression. The relaxed, casual sitting pose reveals a boyish charm, and the curious tilted-head expression is simply irresistible~
