The plastic model kit series "MODEROID", launched by the Japanese brand MECHA SMILE, today announced a brand new branch, "DX-SCALE", which features further evolution in size, color separation, and detailed sculpting. The first product in this new line will be the protagonist's machine from "Knight's & Magic", "Ikaruga", which was previously released in the MODEROID series, with an anticipated release in June 2025.
Ikaruga is a Silhouette Knight designed by the protagonist, Ernesti Echevalier, who retains memories from his previous life as a Japanese person. Its appearance features a unique armored samurai design compared to other models, equipped with four flexible and powerful auxiliary arms called "Lunar Manus" and several "Gun-Swords" that can be used for both melee and magic attacks. Its most significant features include a medium-sized magic converter, "Queen's Crown," in its abdomen, and a large converter, "King's Heart," on its back. This immense magical power, combined with its full-body magic-accumulating armor and magic jet thrusters, achieves the strongest performance in the history of Silhouette Knights. Its active presence earned it the moniker "Demon God" from other nations.
The "MODEROID DX-SCALE Ikaruga" is an upgraded version based on the previously released standard model. With its overall size increased from 15 cm to 19 cm tall, the density of armor details and the overall range of articulation have also been enhanced. The part separation is more refined, and new clear blue and orange molded colors have been added, along with pre-painted "Gun-Swords." This allows for a finished model that closely matches the anime's color scheme right out of the box, and the included waterslide decals further elevate the details!
The four pre-painted "Gun-Swords" feature a transformation mechanism for their shooting form, and the weapon grips are also separate parts from the weapon-holding hands. The four auxiliary arms, "Lunar Manus," on the back are fully articulated and can recreate their firing state using cable parts. The "King's Heart," hidden within the back armor, is also precisely sculpted. Furthermore, in addition to the default anime-style face part, a slightly different manga-style face part is included for replacement.
