PROOF Co., Ltd. (プルーフ), dedicated to the development and production of high-quality collectible toy models, is launching a new product based on the popular anime "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" — the "Kenshin Himura Soryusen Ver." 1/7 scale pre-painted figure, with a suggested retail price of 24,200 JPY, scheduled for release in July 2025!
"Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" is an adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga "Rurouni Kenshin," produced by LIDENFILMS, and is a remake of the 1996 anime. It tells the story of Kenshin Himura, a legendary swordsman from the Bakumatsu period, a wandering "Hitokiri Battosai" (manslayer), who settles down after being persuaded by Kaoru Kamiya, the acting instructor of the Kamiya Kasshin-ryu. However, due to his complex past, he becomes embroiled in various incidents, challenging opponents who come his way.
This Kenshin Himura Soryusen Ver. stands approximately 26.5 cm tall, with a design inspired by the "Kyoto Disturbance Arc" set to premiere in October. Fully supervised by manga creator Nobuhiro Watsuki, the figure captures Kenshin in battle, wielding his sakabatō (reverse-blade sword) in one hand and its sheath in the other, executing the "Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu Battōjutsu: Soryusen" technique! The flowing attire and red long hair, intertwined with translucent blue effect parts, combined with the sloped rubble base, create powerful visual tension. The scattered autumn leaves around further imbue the overall presentation with a Zen-like blend of strength and gentleness!
