TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., today officially announced the latest product from the popular alloy toy series 'METAL BUILD', the "Z Gundam" from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", scheduled for release in April 2025.

The MSZ-006 Z Gundam is a next-generation transformable MS developed by the AEUG after acquiring the Titans' new mobile suit "RX-178 Gundam MK-II" and utilizing its movable frame technology. It features highly rigid and lightweight armor made of Gundarium γ alloy, and is equipped with a rich arsenal including a beam rifle, beam saber, and grenade launchers with multiple warhead types. It also incorporates a simplified psycho-communicator, the "Bio-Sensor," which allows Newtype pilots to enhance the machine's performance through brainwave assistance. When fully activated, it can generate incredible powers such as strengthening beam weapons, forming shields, and disabling enemy mobile suits.

For the "METAL BUILD Z Gundam", renowned designers Junichi Akutsu and Manabu Shintani from ASTRAYS Co. were responsible for the sculpt design and transformation mechanism design, respectively. Furthermore, Fumi Nakashige, who served as the mechanical animation director for the theatrical animation "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation", was invited as a sculpt consultant. This luxurious development team has imbued the product with a style distinct from the original setting and a newly interpreted "Waverider form" transformation mechanism.

Standing approximately 19 cm tall, the "METAL BUILD Z Gundam" features a complex frame for its transformation system made with alloy parts. Its sharp, highly detailed, and cool armor styling is rendered in plastic materials such as ABS and PVC. Unique to this design, metal parts are exposed and armor deployment mechanisms are incorporated, showcasing the appeal of an alloy toy. The entire model is finished with a rich color application, including semi-gloss and matte finishes, along with body markings, enhancing the machine's substantial texture.
▼ The thrusters on both sides of the calves feature an outer armor deployment mechanism.

▼ The back flight armor features a new mechanism for hanging the beam rifle on the right side.

▼ The beam rifle's barrel features an extendable mechanism.

The alloy frame not only boasts flexible articulation for dynamic combat poses, but its high strength and the product's newly interpreted transformation mechanism also allow for the recreation of the "Waverider (WR)" form. Each section features unique structural designs for the METAL BUILD version, enabling a flawless realization of the complex transformation. Under the supervision of Fumi Nakashige, the Waverider form also achieves the streamlined aesthetic of the theatrical version's design.

Weapon accessories include two beam sabers, a beam rifle, a shield, and grenade launcher magazines. Notably, the beam rifle features a new design where a beam saber can also be deployed from its rear end.
▼ Beam saber effects can be attached to both the front and rear ends of the beam rifle.

▼ The grenade launcher concealed within the wrist can be deployed after equipping the magazine.

▼ The beam saber hilt can be stored in the waist, and the shield also features an extendable mechanism.
