Toho Co., Ltd.'s 'Godzilla Room' (ゴジラルーム), the department dedicated to managing Godzilla-related business, is launching its own brand-new plastic model kit series, 'TOHO MONSTERS KIT'. In addition to the debut release of 'Godzilla (1993)', they will also simultaneously release another 'Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla'-themed product: the 'Mechagodzilla (1993)' plastic model kit. The suggested retail price is 3,850 JPY, and it is scheduled for release on November 03, 2025!
In the 1993 film 'Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla', the United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Center and the anti-Godzilla special forces 'G-Force' extracted the remains of Mecha-King Ghidorah from the seabed and, combining them with 23rd-century technology, created the powerful anti-Godzilla weapon, 'Mechagodzilla'. The 'Super Mechagodzilla,' formed by combining with Garuda, once pushed Godzilla to the brink of defeat. It was only through the healing power of the dying Fire Rodan that Godzilla successfully revived and defeated Super Mechagodzilla.
This 'Mechagodzilla (1993)' plastic model kit stands approximately 16 cm tall upon completion, faithfully recreating its appearance from the film. Its mechanically sleek and smooth curves are produced through injection molding, and transparent parts are used for the eyes. Unlike the Godzilla kit released simultaneously, this model features simple articulation in multiple areas, including the jaw, neck, arms, wrists, thighs, and ankles, offering more posing options! The model itself is unpainted, allowing collectors to apply their own paintwork to reproduce Mechagodzilla's metallic texture!
