To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, Japanese model toy manufacturers PLEX and ART STORM have collaborated to launch a brand new kaiju soft vinyl figure series, 'G-SAURUS'. The first product in the series will be 'Godzilla (2023)', as seen in the movie 'Godzilla Minus One', scheduled for release in February 2025.
'G-SAURUS' inherits the product name and some stylistic elements from the 'GREAT SAURUS' soft vinyl toy series previously released by Popy. While the overall proportions feature a more squat body compared to the original movie design, Godzilla's fierce head and cool dorsal fin sculpt are still presented in their original style. It boasts rich sculpting details, an impressive 30cm-class scale, rotatable joints, and articulated parts.
This product features 'Godzilla (2023)', who appeared in the movie 'Godzilla Minus One'. Originally an ancient creature inhabiting the deep seas around Odo Island, it was known to local residents as 'Gojira'. However, in 1946, after World War II, U.S. nuclear tests near Bikini Atoll caused Gojira to mutate and grow into a 50-meter-tall Godzilla. Its extraordinary regenerative abilities allowed it to recover instantly even after being bombarded by naval vessels, and it could emit a nuclear-bomb-level high-power atomic breath from its mouth.
The 'G-SAURUS Godzilla (2023)' captures a roaring pose with an impressive size of 32 cm to the top of its head and 35 cm to the tip of its tail. Precise sculpting reproduces the rock-like rough skin across its entire body, along with details such as the regenerated scar on its left cheek. The dorsal fins and inside of the mouth utilize transparent materials and gradient painting to depict the blue glow emitted when charging its 'atomic breath'.
The entire body, including the neck, shoulders, wrists, both hands, both feet, and tail, features rotatable joints, allowing for various posing options. By using the included base placed under the tail, Godzilla can be tilted forward, simulating a walking posture.
