Produced by Japan's PLEX Co., Ltd. and distributed by X-PLUS Co., Ltd., the "Toho 30cm Series" of soft vinyl figures, themed around Toho's tokusatsu monsters, has announced the latest product, "Bagan," from the official Godzilla monster puppet show "Godziban," scheduled for release in late January 2025.

Bagan was a legendary demon beast originally slated to battle Godzilla in "Godzilla's Resurrection," one of the scripts for the 1984 film "Godzilla." It also appeared in plans for "Mothra vs. Bagan" and a sequel to "Yamato Takeru," but none were adopted. During this time, some of its concepts were notably used as the final boss in the 1993 Super Famicom game "Super Godzilla." However, it wasn't until the official monster puppet show "Godziban" in 2022 that it made its formal debut in a visual production.

The "Toho 30cm Series Bagan" is based on the giant monster suit used for filming in "Godziban." Standing at an impressive 35 cm tall, it recreates Bagan's design, which merges elements from its various iterations, with a highly organic and lifelike style. It meticulously sculpts the ferocious head with its massive horns, the shell-like wings on its back, and the intricate patterns of its outer shell and muscle fibers across its entire body. Furthermore, Hideyuki Kobayashi, the director of the "Godziban" program and also the creator of the Bagan monster suit used in the show, provided thorough supervision!
