Sony Pictures is expanding the cast for its new "Anaconda" film, following the confirmation of Paul Rudd and Jack Black as its stars.
According to Deadline, Daniela Melchior, who gained recognition for her role as Ratcatcher 2 in "The Suicide Squad," is now confirmed to join the new adaptation of the 90s cult classic.
Melchior previously shared the news on social media, expressing her excitement for the film.
This new adaptation will be directed by Tom Gormican, who co-wrote "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent," and he will also co-write the screenplay with Kevin Etten. Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are set to produce through their company, Fully Formed.

The original "Anaconda" film starred Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, Owen Wilson, and Ice Cube. It followed a National Geographic film crew venturing into the Amazon rainforest in search of the world's largest deadly snake, only to become its prey. The new film will reimagine the story, focusing on a group of friends facing a midlife crisis who decide to travel to the Amazon to remake the film they loved in their youth. They will confront not only deadly giant snakes but also harsh weather and a group of unexpected violent criminals.
Melchior recently starred alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the Amazon Prime adaptation "Road House," which broke streaming records upon its March release, with a sequel already announced.
Melchior rose to prominence with her breakthrough performance as Ratcatcher 2 in the DC film "The Suicide Squad." She subsequently appeared in "Fast X" and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3." Next, she is slated to co-star with Mark Wahlberg in MGM's "Balls Up."
