Bandai's GASHAPON division in Japan is launching a new product based on the handheld virtual pet game "Tamagotchi"—the "Tamagotchi Puku-tto Ring" (Japanese provisional name: たまごっち ぷくっとリング) gashapon series. With a suggested retail price of 200 JPY per capsule, it is scheduled for release in the first week of October 2024!
Tamagotchi (たまごっち) is a series of handheld virtual pet game devices launched by Bandai in 1996. Its name combines the Japanese words for egg (たまご, Tamago) and watch (ウォッチ, Watch). Upon its release, it sparked a global virtual pet craze, becoming one of the most iconic toys from the 90s to the early 2000s, and surely a cherished childhood memory for many toy enthusiasts!
This latest "Tamagotchi Puku-tto Ring" collection features popular Tamagotchi characters crafted into rings approximately 2 cm in size. The plastic material gives them a puffy, rounded appearance. It includes six designs: Mametchi (まめっち), Memetchi (めめっち), Kuchipatchi (くちぱっち), Mimitchi (みみっち), Ichigotchi (いちごっち), and Flowertchi (ふらわっち).
