The model kit series 'MODEROID', launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, today announced its latest product, 'Fafner Mk.XIII Kai Chronus' from the anime 'Fafner in the Azure: THE BEYOND', is scheduled for release in June 2025.
The crimson Fafner, 'Fafner Mk.XIII', was originally a close-combat specialized unit piloted by Kanon Hazama. However, after Kanon's death due to the new assimilation phenomenon, the unit was transferred to its new pilot, Misao Kurusu. The unit, initially maintaining its original specifications with only the Kanon Amplifier installed, was gradually upgraded into the new generation Valhalla-type Fafner, 'Fafner Mk.XIII Kai Chronus'. Through Misao Kurusu's Super Dimensional Phenomenon (SDP) ability, the flow of time around the unit can be slowed down to one-millionth of its normal speed.
The 'MODEROID Fafner Mk.XIII Kai Chronus' is assembled using multi-colored molded parts, pre-painted parts, and decals. Once completed, it boasts an overall height of 19 cm, faithfully reproducing the unit's characteristic crimson armor and its cool silhouette after being upgraded to the Valhalla type. It also features intricate detailing and flexible articulation.
The back stabilizers can be deployed without needing to swap parts. The deployment of the Kanon Amplifier, the wrist-mounted hidden blades, and the shooting form of the main weapon, the Luger Lance, can be reproduced by swapping parts. Additionally, the product includes water-slide decals featuring various unit markings, which can be applied to different parts of the unit to enhance its details.
