Hatsune Miku
The character is set to be 16 years old, with a birthday on August 31st. Her height and weight are 158 cm and 42 kg, respectively. She sports cyan-green twin-tails, wears black over-the-knee boots, and excels at pop songs, rock music, and dancing. Her signature color is cyan-green (#39C5BB). Officially, Hatsune Miku is proficient in pop songs from the 1980s to the present. Her ideal tempo range is approximately 70-245 BPM (originally 70-208, but "The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku" reached 240 BPM, breaking the original limit), and her preferred vocal range is A3-E5 (originally C3-E4). In reality, the software's absolute highest and lowest limits are G8 and C-2; output quality begins to degrade, and the volume may even decrease, beyond a certain pitch.
Her clothing and mechanical parts are based on Yamaha's DX series, released in 1983. The "01" on her left arm was initially designed as a QR code, and her original outfit was a sailor uniform, but Crypton felt it wasn't good enough and changed it to the current design. The character design is superior to that of MEIKO from 2004. With only a basic profile and an "incomplete" character design, insisting on the "original settings" is meaningless for creators. Furthermore, the connection between Hatsune Miku and her voice provider, Saki Fujita, is not strongly emphasized, allowing for greater creative freedom. This makes it easier for users to develop an attachment to "their own Hatsune Miku," resulting in a massive outpouring of creative works.
Today, we're introducing the 1/12 scale "Hatsune Miku - Sing the Future"!
The Hatsune Miku main figure stands at approximately 16cm tall. The stage measures about 41cm*24cm*27cm. The number of accessories is absolutely insane! It includes:
Hatsune Miku main body x1, Microphone x1, Microphone stand x1, Leek-shaped glow stick x1, Interchangeable collars x2, Performance outfit accessories x2, Concert outfit accessories x2, Base body parts x1, Hand parts x6, Stage x1, PE soft plastic skirt pieces x6, Water-slide decals x1, Stickers x1, Interchangeable face plates x4, Blank face plates x6, White light units x2, Color-changing light units x2, Sound speakers x2 (batteries are included for the light units, but the stage's sound feature requires 4x AA batteries, not included).
The main materials are ABS/PVC/PE/light units/sound components/magnets/paper, etc. The box includes a first-run pre-order bonus: a set of commemorative tickets.
Hatsune Miku can be displayed in three different styles by swapping parts: "Base Outfit," "Concert Outfit," and "Performance Outfit." To allow Miku to be more active on stage, the skirt is made from PE soft plastic sheets. Besides having a texture closer to a real skirt, it also doesn't hinder the model's articulation. There are 4 pre-painted face plates (smiling face, winking face, energetic smiling face, and singing with eyes closed), along with 6 blank face plates and various expression water-slide decals. There's also a starry-eyed decal that is absolutely adorable.
As for the stage, it's large enough to fit three female model figures at once, so when Sakura Miku and Snow Miku are released, they can perform on the same stage. The stage is equipped with four lights: two color-changing lights and two white lights, enhancing the live concert atmosphere. The lights can be freely positioned and adjusted, with the color-changing lights simulating the lighting of a live venue. The stage lights are activated magnetically; the magnet is at the bottom of the microphone stand. The lower part of the stage features a drawer design for storing accessories. There's also a special accessory for fans: a "leek-shaped glow stick."
However, the biggest selling point of this model kit is its ability to play Hatsune Miku's voice clips:
1. Hello everyone, I'm Hatsune Miku.
2. Let's get hyped, everyone!
3. "Pick Me Up" (Artist: Di Men)
4. Receiving everyone's support gives me more motivation. Thank you all!
5. I'll do my best on the next song too, so please listen closely.
6. I love you all!
These voice lines are customized based on the MC segments from Hatsune Miku's concerts, so fans who have attended or watched her concerts might find them resonant. The song "Pick Me Up" is particularly fitting for this stage; the lyrics and the model are highly compatible, and this song has been performed at Miku's concerts, making it widely recognized.
The stage's backdrop can be customized to your liking. For example, you could make one that says "MIKU, WISH ME A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" or "A CONCERT MADE JUST FOR ME BY MIKU!" The backdrop dimensions are 196*330mm, and you could even try using a tablet as a backdrop. You could even create a battle background and have two female model kits fighting on it...
Since everyone is very familiar with Hatsune Miku, I'll just share a few potentially useful points below:
① Hatsune Miku's birthday is August 31, 2007, making this her 17th anniversary. In addition to her birthday, March 9th is celebrated as "Miku's 39's Giving Day" because the pronunciation of 39 in Japanese is close to "miku" and also sounds like "thank you."
② Hatsune Miku is the world's first virtual idol to hold a concert using holographic projection technology.
③ Fans in the domestic community often refer to Miku as "Her Highness the Princess/My Wife" and call themselves the "Knight Order/Leek Fans/mikufans."
④ Fun fact: The website "bilibili" was formerly known as "mikufans."
⑤ The licensed song for this product, "Pick Me Up," is quite famous in the Chinese Vocaloid song community and has been featured multiple times in the official "MIKU WITH YOU" concerts.
Finally, let's talk about the assembly experience!
On the plus side, according to a modeler friend of mine who has "seen countless girls" (meaning he's built many female model kits), this Hatsune Miku stands at the pinnacle of the 1/12 scale girl model series. Personally, I found the assembly process smooth, with some parts using undergated nubs for a cleaner finish. The sculpt and details are abundant. In terms of appearance, it fully captures Miku's cute and lively image! The main highlight, of course, is her twin-tails! Using one entire runner to assemble a single tail is a bit crazy... but Saint-Scythe has perfectly captured the flowing feel of the hair, so my personal evaluation of this Miku model is very high!
The design of the stage base is also very thoughtful. The combination of lighting effects, sound volume, transparent parts, stand, backdrop, and more is of extremely high quality! The design allowing small parts to be stored in the base's small drawer after assembly is also very heartwarming! Overall, this is truly a high-quality model kit!
As for areas needing improvement, first is the skirt assembly. If you want a better visual effect, the manual doesn't explain it well. You need to sandwich the central skirt piece between the front and back pieces. However, this is quite difficult to assemble and requires a bit more time to complete. Additionally, some of the stage parts are very large! The size isn't the problem; the problem is that they can easily get scratched from bumping against each other during shipping before assembly. Many of the large parts had this issue... Lastly, and what I personally feel needs the most improvement, are the water-slide decals! The quality of the decals is average; they are very thin and tear easily during application. Before a protective top coat is applied, even a light touch with a finger can cause damage!
I hope the manufacturer takes note of these issues so they can bring us players even more high-quality products in the future!
Keep it up! I love you! (´ε` )♡
