The 'HG (High Grade)' robot plastic model series, produced by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, today at 'The 62nd All Japan Model & Hobby Show' unveiled for the first time the developing prototype of the latest product from "Super Robot Wars OG", the "Ashsaber". Detailed product information will be released at a later date.
First appearing in "Super Robot Wars A", the ASK-AD02 Ashsaber is one of the initial selectable real robot protagonist units. Although its HP, armor, and maximum attack power are the lowest among the five protagonist units, its extremely high mobility provides excellent evasion performance. It is also equipped with a jammer to nullify missiles and an anti-beam coating to reduce beam damage. Its strongest weapon, the "Breaker Sword", is a cool armament reminiscent of the Gundam series' funnels, possessing super strong characteristics such as attacking after movement, a long range of 2-6, and being immune to being shot down.
From the currently displayed prototype of the "HG Ashsaber", one can observe its striking armor design and the faithful reproduction of the rich thruster details across various parts of the unit. The displayed armament includes the handheld "Giga Flail". The six "Breaker Swords" mounted on the left and right shoulders also appear to show part separation lines, suggesting that they might be able to reproduce their deployed state when firing beams.
