Move over, princesses! Prince Charming is finally getting his moment in the spotlight. Following numerous live-action adaptations of classic princess films, Disney has announced it is developing its first-ever standalone movie centered on "Prince Charming."
According to Deadline, Disney has tapped Paul King (pictured below), the acclaimed director behind the "Paddington" series and "Wonka," to helm the "Prince Charming" standalone film. King's longtime writing partners, Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker, are set to pen the script.

The report indicates that plot details for the film are currently under wraps, but it has been confirmed that it will not be connected to the storyline of "Cinderella." Additionally, Variety notes that it remains unclear whether the project will be a new animated feature or a live-action production.
This isn't Disney's first attempt at a "Prince Charming" film. In 2015, the studio had previously enlisted Matt Fogel, who later wrote "The Lego Movie 2" and "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," to develop a live-action "Prince Charming" film. However, that project ultimately did not move forward.
