Following earlier reports from journalist Jeff Sneider regarding Lionsgate's interest in a new "American Psycho" film, the studio has now officially confirmed the project. Lionsgate announced today that it will partner with acclaimed director Luca Guadagnino, known for "Challengers" and "Call Me by Your Name," for the upcoming remake of the classic thriller, originally starring Christian Bale and released in 2000.
Lionsgate also revealed that Scott Z. Burns, screenwriter for "The Bourne Ultimatum," will pen the script for the new "American Psycho" film. The movie will adapt Bret Easton Ellis's renowned novel of the same name, with Sam Pressman set to produce.
