threezero "Blade Runner 2049 Deckard’s Police Spinner" 3.7-inch Die-cast Model Vehicle

Hong Kong toy manufacturer threezero recently announced its brand-new small-scale vehicle model series. The first release in the series is a new product based on the classic cyberpunk film sequel, "Blade Runner 2049" – the "Deckard’s Police Spinner" 3.7-inch model vehicle. It has a suggested retail price of US$19.99 and is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2025!

Released in 1982, "Blade Runner" was adapted from Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?". The story is set in a fictional 2017 where humanity has colonized the moon and genetically engineered replicants are produced. Retired police officer Rick Deckard is ordered by his former superior to investigate several "Nexus-6" replicants who have escaped from the colonies back to Earth. During the pursuit, he begins to question the existential differences between humans and replicants.

The sequel, "Blade Runner 20449," released in 2017, is set 32 years after the original. After the collapse of a major corporation, K, a new-generation replicant detective performing "Blade Runner" duties of hunting down replicants, unexpectedly discovers a child born to a human and a replicant, left behind by Deckard, and begins an investigation. The "Deckard’s Police Spinner" released this time was Deckard's personal police vehicle in the first film, and its scenes traversing the chaotic, apocalyptic Los Angeles skies were incredibly memorable! In the sequel, when K and Deckard were being hunted, they didn't even have time to reach this police spinner before it was blown up by pursuers from the Tyrell Corporation.

The model vehicle itself is approximately 9.4 cm long and features a die-cast zinc alloy chassis, which not only makes the structure more robust but also adds to its overall heft. The gull-wing doors on both sides of the vehicle can open vertically to reveal interior details, while the front wheels and wheel covers can retract and rotate, allowing for the recreation of its in-film flight mode! The exterior faithfully reproduces the classic blue and yellow police car paint scheme, with the Chinese characters "警察" (Jǐngchá - Police) and the number "44" on the body meticulously recreated. A superb weathering effect is applied to present the battle-worn, dilapidated appearance of this vehicle! Fans of "Blade Runner" should not miss out!
