Based on Neil Gaiman's acclaimed novel, "Good Omens" has garnered significant praise from fans since its 2019 debut on Amazon Prime Video. However, production on the third and final season was unexpectedly halted in September 2023 after Gaiman faced multiple sexual assault allegations.
Now, Prime Video has officially announced that "Good Omens" Season 3 will resume production in Scotland in early 2025. However, with Neil Gaiman still embroiled in the sexual assault allegations, he will no longer be involved in the production nor serve as an executive producer for the series.
It remains unclear if Gaiman's absence is a contributing factor, but Prime Video has stated that "Good Omens" Season 3 will consist of a single, 90-minute episode, serving as the series finale.
Beyond the "Good Omens" TV series, another adaptation of Neil Gaiman's work, the film "The Graveyard Book" from Disney, has also seen its production temporarily paused due to the ongoing allegations. As a result, casting and filming dates remain unconfirmed.
The only confirmed detail is that Marc Forster, known for "Christopher Robin" and "World War Z," is attached to direct and will produce alongside Renée Wolfe. David Magee, who penned "Finding Neverland," is set to write the screenplay.
Meanwhile, development on the second season of Netflix's "The Sandman," based on the DC Comics series, appears unaffected by the controversy surrounding Neil Gaiman. Following the release of its first trailer during a previous Netflix Geeked Week event, the season is still expected to premiere in 2025.
