Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has announced a new product based on the 1986 spin-off animated series "The Real Ghostbusters" – the "Peter Venkman and Samhain" 1/12 scale articulated figure set. With a suggested retail price of US$202, it is now available for timed pre-order on MONDO's official website, with an estimated shipping date of May 2025!
"The Real Ghostbusters" is a spin-off animated series from the Ghostbusters franchise that aired from 1986 to 1991, spanning seven seasons. It chronicles more heroic deeds of these New York ghost-catching heroes. In 2021, the official Ghostbusters channel also uploaded "The Real Ghostbusters" animation to YouTube, allowing everyone to re-watch this classic cartoon online for free!
This iteration of Peter Venkman and Samhain appears in Season 1, Episode 08, "When Halloween Was Forever." The Peter Venkman figure faithfully recreates his classic brown and blue ghost-busting uniform and messy hairstyle from the series. Accessories include a serious expression alternate face, gloved alternate hands, a ghost trap, and a popular Slimer character model. Of course, the proton pack and proton gun are also included, which can be paired with the accompanying particle stream effect piece to recreate dynamic ghost-catching poses!
Samhain's figure faithfully reproduces his pumpkin head design from the animation, with a sculpted robe that appears to be blowing in the wind and enhanced paintwork to elevate the overall detailed texture. Accessories include two alternate head sculpts and a set of alternate hands. It also comes with a dynamic Samhain character model being sucked into a ghost trap, which can be displayed to recreate the moment of his capture!
A standard edition, including only Peter and Slimer, is also being released simultaneously!
