Following the recent casting announcements of Emmy-nominated actor Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre from Netflix's "Rebel Ridge" for the DCU's inaugural live-action series, "Lanterns", Kelly Macdonald, known for her role in "Boardwalk Empire", is now confirmed to join the cast in a major role. Chandler is set to portray an older version of Hal Jordan.
Reports indicate that Kelly Macdonald will play Sheriff Kerry Kane in "Lanterns", a responsible and resilient law enforcement officer whose tough demeanor stems from a complex past. Her character is also expected to be a romantic interest for Chandler's Hal Jordan.
The DCU's first live-action television series, "Lanterns", will be co-produced and co-written by acclaimed comic book writer Tom King, alongside Damon Lindelof, a writer for the "Watchmen" series, and Chris Mundy, a producer for "Ozark". HBO is confirmed to produce the series.
