Japanese toy company Good Smile Company's popular and best-selling "Nendoroid" (ねんどろいど) series is scheduled to release a figure of the protagonist, Miku Hinasaki (ひなさき みく), from the famous Japanese-style horror action game Fatal Frame (零~ZERO~), in April 2025, priced at 7,200 JPY.
Originally released on the PS2 console in 2001, Fatal Frame (零～zero～) (US title: Fatal Frame, EU title: Project Zero), developed by Tecmo (now merged with Koei), is a Japanese-style horror action game. In the game, players use the "Camera Obscura" as a weapon, repelling attacking vengeful spirits by taking photos, and embarking on adventures and solving mysteries within dilapidated Japanese buildings. Its high level of horror has earned praise from fans of the genre, leading to subsequent releases such as Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, Fatal Frame III: The Tormented, Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, and Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.
Miku Hinasaki is the protagonist of the first game in the Fatal Frame series, Fatal Frame (零~ZERO~). Both she and her brother Mafuyu possess extremely high spiritual power, allowing them to see things ordinary people cannot. To save her brother Mafuyu, she ventures alone to the Himuro Mansion where he is, gradually uncovering the truth behind the incidents there. She also appears in later works, Fatal Frame III: The Tormented and Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, making her a crucial character throughout the entire series.
This Nendoroid Miku Hinasaki from GOOD SMILE COMPANY faithfully recreates her appearance from the first Fatal Frame game. Miku's attire at this time consists of a white shirt, somewhat resembling a school uniform, paired with a black skirt. Her hair ornament and necktie are dark red, representing Miku. The figure includes three facial expressions: smiling, fearful, and uneasy. Accessories include the flashlight seen in the game, and the "Camera Obscura," the weapon used to repel and eliminate vengeful spirits. Furthermore, if ordered from the GOOD SMILE COMPANY official store, customers will receive a special bonus: a "Camera Obscura Shutter Screen."
