TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., which issues the "S.H.MonsterArts" series combining exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, has announced the commercialization of its latest entry, "Anguirus (1972)," from the movie "Godzilla vs. Gigan." Detailed product information will be released at a later date.

The movie "Godzilla vs. Gigan," which celebrates its 50th anniversary since its release, marks the first appearance of the popular monster Gigan. In the film, the villainous M Space Hunter Nebula Aliens, in their bid to invade Earth, not only transformed a space dinosaur into the cybernetic monster Gigan, but also enlisted the powerful space monster King Ghidorah. They manipulated them to attack Earth by sending signals from the "Godzilla Tower." However, the Earth monster duo, Godzilla and Anguirus, had long since detected their invasion intentions and launched a counterattack against the invading alien monsters.

A painted prototype of "S.H.MonsterArts Anguirus (1972)" was recently displayed at "GODZILLA FES 2024." Its overall design is based on the suit used in the film at the time, meticulously recreating the high-density spikes on its dorsal carapace. Furthermore, the entire body features precise articulation splits, creating flexible, twistable joints that do not expose unsightly gaps. The jaw, neck, torso, limbs, and tail are all articulated, allowing for the recreation of its quadrupedal crawling posture from the film.
