The "SYNERGENEX" series, an external collaboration toy line launched by T-SPARK, the high-end toy brand under Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY, today announced the latest product from its collaboration between its popular transforming toy "Transformers" and the 70th-anniversary tokusatsu monster "Godzilla": "Megatron TYPE Godzilla", scheduled for release in late May 2025.
Leveraging years of experience in designing "Transformers" series toys, TAKARA TOMY ingeniously combines the series' renowned Decepticon leader "Megatron" with Japan's iconic King of Monsters, "Godzilla". The concept portrays the Emperor of Destruction in an enhanced form, empowered by the King of Monsters' G-cells. His transformation is no longer into the familiar tank or pistol, but into a beast mode reminiscent of Godzilla.
In robot mode, the overall design is based on the G1 silhouette, featuring thick, dark limbs akin to Godzilla. The entire body is adorned with dedicated markings and electroplated parts that convey a metallic texture. The chest proudly displays a commemorative logo celebrating "Godzilla's" 70th anniversary. Various articulated joints and dedicated weaponry allow for dynamic posing and play.
Upon transforming into beast mode, it boasts a Godzilla-like appearance. While lacking the signature dorsal fins, the blue parts on the back of its neck signify Godzilla's energy charging state. By attaching the three transparent blue effect parts to its mouth, the iconic "Atomic Breath" pose can be recreated.
