Japanese model manufacturer Megahouse's large-scale light-up statue series for Tokusatsu works, "Ultimate Article," has announced its latest product from "Ultraman Taro," the "Ultraman Taro," slated for release in April 2025.
Ultraman Taro, a warrior hailing from Nebula M78's Land of Light, is the son of the Space Garrison Captain, Father of Ultra, and Mother of Ultra. He took over Ultraman Ace's mission to defend Earth and merged with Higashi Kotaro, a member of the Space Science Garrison ZAT who was once on the brink of death. He has defeated numerous formidable foes, including the Volcanic Monster Birdon and the Tyrant Monster Tyrant. Later, he served as an instructor for the Space Garrison, nurturing excellent warriors such as Mebius and his own son, Taiga.
The "Ultimate Article Ultraman Taro" is crafted in the series' signature impressive 40cm scale. With supervision from Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department, it thoroughly recreates the suit design used in the early stages of the show, meticulously detailing muscle lines and various folds. It also includes multiple interchangeable hand parts, allowing for the recreation of two poses: "battle stance" and the special move "Storium Ray," as well as the "Ultraman Bracelet" initially equipped on his left arm and the "King Bracelet" equipped later.
This 40cm statue also features rich light and sound mechanisms, with a switch on the base to toggle between two light and sound modes. In Mode 1, it emits a transformation sound and illuminates the forehead, eyes, and Color Timer, followed by approximately 155 seconds of battle BGM. Mode 2 recreates the state where the transformation energy is about to deplete, with the Color Timer continuously flashing red and emitting a warning sound, followed 20 seconds later by the sound of the special move "Storium Ray" and the sound of flying away after the battle concludes.
