Disney Unveils First "Lilo & Stitch" Live-Action Still; Shakira Returns for "Zootopia 2" with New Song

Earlier today, Disney offered fans a first look at its live-action "Lilo & Stitch" with a new still unveiled at the D23 Expo in Brazil. The adaptation of the beloved 2002 Disney animated classic was previously confirmed last month for a theatrical release on May 23, 2025. While no trailer or footage was shown at the event, the adorable and "fluffy" CGI Stitch was enough to generate significant buzz among attendees.

In other major news, Disney also announced today that Colombian pop icon Shakira will reprise her role as the voice of Zootopia's biggest pop star, Gazelle, in the upcoming "Zootopia 2," slated for release next November. Shakira herself confirmed in an official promotional video that Gazelle will return in the sequel with a fresh new look and brand-new music.

The D23 event also featured the debut of a new trailer for "Mufasa: The Lion King". Additionally, attendees were treated to trailers for "TRON: Ares," starring Jared Leto, Evan Peters, and Greta Lee, as well as a new preview for the live-action "Snow White," featuring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. It remains unclear if these trailers will be released online to the public in the near future.
